A description is a set of characteristics by which someone or something can be recognised. We can describe people, places and events. By describing them we make a sketch in words so that the reader is able to get a clear picture of the described object. A good description creates a clear mental image in the mind of the reader.

While describing people we take care of the following points

Narendra Modi was born on 17th September, 1950, in Vadnagar. Indian politician and government official who rose to become a senior leader of the BJP in 2014, led his party to victory in elections to the Lok Sabha,after which he was sworn in as Prime Minister of India.Prior to that he had served (2001-14) as the Chief Minister (head of government) of Gujarat, in Western India. My House

My favourite place in the world is my house. It is an important place to me as 1 have my childhood memories attached to it. I have grown up here and 1 have spent almost all my life here. There are four bedrooms, a big drawing cum dining room and a big kitchen. I generally invite my friends over, during weekends and we sit and chat in the drawing room. Answer:
Book fair is organised in Pragati Maidan, Delhi every year. This year it was organised in the month of August. It was a very big affair as publishers from all over India exhibited their books. One could see and buy good books on practically any subject and topic that one could think of. People from Delhi and neighbouring areas came to attend this fair. It was a rare opportunity for book lovers and library owners as there was a variety of books from different publishers, all under one roof. The main attraction of the fair was availability of some special books and teaching aids which are not easily available in book shops.
