Running a macro in Excel allows you to execute a series of recorded actions or programmed commands with a single click. Once you've created or obtained a macro, you can run it using one of several methods:
Using the Ribbon:
Navigate to the "Developer" tab in the Excel ribbon.
In the "Code" group, click on the "Macros" button. This will open the "Macro" dialog box.
Select the macro you want to run from the list.
Click on the "Run" button. The selected macro will be executed.
Using the Keyboard Shortcut:
If you assigned a keyboard shortcut to your macro during creation, you can simply press that combination of keys to run the macro. For example, if you assigned Ctrl + Shift + M as the shortcut, pressing those keys together will execute the macro.
Using a Button:
If you assigned your macro to a button or shape in the worksheet, you can run it by clicking on that button or shape.
Using the Quick Access Toolbar:
You can add your macro to the Quick Access Toolbar for easy access.
Click on the down arrow at the end of the Quick Access Toolbar.
Choose "More Commands..." from the dropdown menu.
In the "Excel Options" dialog box, select "Macros" from the "Choose commands from" dropdown.
Select your macro from the list on the left and click the "Add" button to move it to the right.
Click "OK" to close the dialog box. Your macro will now be available in the Quick Access Toolbar, and you can run it by clicking on its icon.
Using VBA Editor (for advanced users):
Press Alt + F11 to open the Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) Editor.
In the Project Explorer window, locate the module where your macro is stored.
Double-click on the module to open it.
Find the subroutine corresponding to your macro and click inside it.
Press F5 or choose "Run" from the menu to execute the macro.
Choose the method that best suits your preference and workflow to run your macros efficiently and effectively in Excel.
