I walked along the street of Delhi. I wondered what the history of my country meant to me. Here was a land where man had achieved greatness on every plane - Astronomy, Algebra, Architecture, even Poetry, Music and art. Yet in this very city, where seven empires had come gone, where Akbar and ashoka ruled, i could not get a job and boy like shovan lal had not been able to finish his schooling. 

By 11 ‘o’ clock, i had walked eight miles. When i met shovan lal, connaught circus was nearly deserted.

“Hullo”, shovan lal said, greeting me in hindi.

“Hullo”, i replied as a few men around him moved aside to let me come to him.\

“These are my friends”, shovan la added waving his hand over the group.

Ans :

As the pilot (Narrator) entered the storm, his plane started jumping and twisting. He could not see anything outside the plane as it was black. When he looked at the compass and other instruments they had stopped functioning due to the storm. It was a terrible and fearsome experience for him.

ii. How does Anne feel about her father, Mr Keesing?

Ans : Anne felt that her father was the most adorable father she had ever seen.Mr Keesing was her Maths teacher. He was annoyed with her because she talked too much. However, Anne was able to justify her talkative nature every time she was punished by Mr. Keesing. On each occasion he was impressed by the manner in which she presented her arguments. All these incidents show how lovable and smart Anne was. Everybody was attached to her, and even Mr Keesing could not help but laugh at her essays and acknowledge her smart mind.

Ans :

The play ends with Natalya accepting Lomov's proposal and both of them kissing to express their love for each other. But, they still keep arguing over whose dog is better! Chubukov suggests they all have champagne to celebrate.

Ans :The poet suggests that from the loss of the ball, the boy is learning how to stand up in a world of possessions where he will lose things, will buy some more to replace the ones lost, but would never be able to buy back the thing that he had lost. He is sensing his first responsibility as he has lost the ball.

Ans: The Asian Lion has a large body and a brownish-yellow coat. It roars loudly when it attacks its prey. On the other hand, the Bengal Tiger has black stripes on its yellow coat. It silently attacks its prey.

iii. How does the poet's mood change ? (Dust of snow)

Ans : This “dust of snow” changed the poet's mood. The poet's mood changed from that of dismay to joy. He was holding the day in regret when this dust of snow fell on him and this simple little thing brought him some joy.

Ans : The course of the Loisel's life changed due to the necklace. After replacing the lost necklace with a new one, they had to replay all the money that they had borrowed to buy the new necklace. They sent away the maid and changed their lodgings. They rented some rooms in an attic.
