(1) Attitude:-
Attitude is the relationship of the fetus body part to one another
Normal intrauterine attitude is Flexion.
Extension Largest Fetal diameters
(2) Lie:-
Relationship of the spine of the fetus to the spine of mother
Longitudinal or vertical:-
Fetal Spine is parallel to the mother’s spine
Fetus is in cephalic or breech presentations
Transverse or horizontal
Fetal spine is at a right angle or perpendicular to the mother’s spine
Presenting part is the shoulder
Delivery by cesareans section is necessary
(3) Presentation:-
Portion of the fetus that enter the pelvic inlet first
Cephalic:-
Head first
Cephalic is the most common presentation four variations:- Vertex, Military, brow, face
Breech: - Buttocks present first
Delivery by cesarean section three variations-frank, full (complete) & footling
Shoulder: - Fetus is an a transverse lie or arm back, or side could present
If fetus does not spontaneously rotate a cesarean section may need to perform.
(4) Presenting past : - The specific fetal structure lying nearst to the cervix
(5) Position: - Relationship of assigned area of the presenting part or landmark to the maternal pelvis
(6) Station: - The measurement of the progress of descent in centimeters above or below the misplace from the presenting part to the Ischial spine.
Station o-At Ischial Spine
Minus station- Above Ischial Spine
Plus station – Below Ischial spine
(7) Engagement: - When the widest diameter of the presenting part has passed the inlet usually cars spends to a station
(8) Fetal position:-
ROA – Right Ocupito Anterior RMA- Right Mantum anterior
LOA- Left Ocupito Anterior LMA- Left Mento anterior
ROP- Right Ocupito Anterior RMP- Mento posterior
LOP- Left Ocupito Anterior LSA- Left sacro anterior
ROT- Right Ocupito Transverse LSP- Left sacro posterior
LOT Right Ocupito Transverse
